Stomatal Characteristics of Pinusresinosa and Pinusstrobus in Relation to Transpiration and Antitranspirant Efficiency

Abstract

Transpiration rates were much higher in Pinusresinosa than P. strobus, reflecting greater stomatal size and frequency in the former. In both species silicone antitranspirant formed stomatal plugs and greatly reduced transpiration.
