Abstract
Computer simulations of a flip‐flop circuit containing weak links (Josephson junctions) show that extremely small changes in the circuit inductance can lead to drastic differences in the circuit behavior. The effect, which is explained in terms of flux quantization, is not limited to small inductance loops, but is also observable in loops which can contain a large number of flux quanta. It is of importance in connection with the punch‐through phenomenon recently reported by Fulton and Dynes.
