Abstract
The engineering designer has over recent years been limited to using traditional costing tools that are relevant at the detail design stage only. This paper attempts to cover the issue of establishing methodologies and toolkits suitable for quantifying whole life product costs that can be addressed at the concept stage of design. Keywords
