Abstract
The various isotope effects on the superconducting transition temperature of Mo2B and W2B have been measured. Together with resistivity data they indicate that the d-shell forms a highly stable electron configuration for molybdenum and tungsten. This leads to an understanding of high superconducting transition temperatures. Keywords
