Effect of Growth Hormone on Isolated Rat Diaphragm. Possible Role of Adenosine 3', 5'-Monophosphoric Acid (Cyclic AMP)

Abstract
An investigation of the biphasic action of STH on D-xylose uptake by the diaphragm of a hypophysectomized rat leads to the following results: - during the rapid phase, cyclic AMP may be an intermediary of STH action, - during the slow phase it is not possible to demonstrate any action of cyclic AMP or of a new protein.
