C. hesseltinii Mehrotra and Sarbhoy, has been reported from the soil of a cultivated field in Allahabad, pH 6.5. It differs from the 2 known spp. of the genus in the absence of spines, the absence of growth at 7[degree] C and poor growth at temperatures lower than 20[degree] C.
