Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate:Part II: Tissue Prognosticators

Abstract
In this second review article of a two-part series on adenocarcinoma of the prostate, both established and experimental tissue prognosticators for adenocarcinoma of the prostate will be discussed. Consideration should be given to tissue indicators of prognosis for patients with prostatic carcinoma because this malignant neoplasm may exhibit remarkably variable biologic behavior. As in the first article, which addressed prostatic tissue sampling issues, the discussions will be centered on tissue specimen types. A final section focuses on experimental prognosticators for adenocarcinoma in prostatic tissues.
