An Improved Method for the Preparation of Silica Gel Media for Microbiological Purposes

Abstract

A base exchange column for the prepn. of silica sols is descr. Sols prepd. by the method can be sterilized by heat treatment and are stable for some weeks. Bacteriological media can easily be prepd. with such sols and the gelling time regulated by the concn. of NaCl used.
