Abstract
The second and fourth moments of the three principal ultrasonic free-spin absorption lines are calculated using a phenomenological form for the spin-phonon interaction. Both exchange and dipole interactions are taken into account, and it is found that exchange causes increased line width in all three cases. For the line at the Larmor frequency, the moments are compared with those for the corresponding photon absorption line, for which exchange narrowing occurs. Keywords
