Abstract
Expressions are obtained for the flow of energy and momentum in assemblies of densely packed molecules, using a generalized virial theorem. They differ to some extent from expressions put forward by previous authors who had only derived the divergence of the flow vectors. Classical results are shown to be valid also in quantum mechanics. Keywords
