Cercaria oregonensis, n. sp., a Dermatitis-Producing Schistosome Cercaria from the Pacific Northwest

Abstract
The cercaria was found in Physa ampullacea from a small lake in Portland, Oregon. It is closely related to C. elvae but differs from that species in minor details of structure and in behavior pattern. When drops of water containing the cercaria were placed on the forearm of six persons, a dermatitis was produced in two cases and the effect lasted for one week and one month, respectively.
