Abstract
To the Editor: We question whether IgA2 is a predominant subclass of IgA deposited in kidneys of patients with IgA nephropathy, as reported by André and his associates in the December 4 issue.1 In contrast to their report, Conley et al. have found that IgA1 deposits selectively in IgA nephropathy.2 One possible explanation for this contrast is that both groups of investigators used different sources of antiserum: André et al. used antiserums obtained from the Nordic Immunological Laboratories (Tilberg, The Netherlands), and Conley et al. used monoclonal hybridoma anti-IgA subclass antibodies. To test this hypothesis, we examined renal tissues of . . .Keywords
