Abstract
Barbiturate coma is associated with a relatively characteristic eeg. pattern. This pattern consists of slow activity (160 to 300 msec. in duration) with superimposed and interspersed faster oscillations (12-15 and 18-24/sec). The eeg. correlates of other important clinical causes of coma are presented for contrast and for their intrinsic value. Brief clinical histories and samples of the eeg. patterns comprise the major portion of the text. Keywords
