Callixylon whiteanum Sp. Nov., From the Woodford Chert of Oklahoma

Abstract

This species (p.182) is based upon silicified material from the Arbuckle Mts. and is probably of lower Mississippian age. The descr. is from secondary tissues which show some resemblances to C. zalesskyi and to C. newberryi but closer to the former. For this reason cordaitean rather than pterido- spermic relationships are postulated for this species.
