Methionine-Enkephalin Stimulates Gastric Secretion and Gastric Mucosal Blood Flow

Abstract
Intra-arterial infusion of methionine-enkaphalin or morphine caused a dose-dependent increase in histamine-induced gastric secretion and gastric mucosal blood flow in dogs. Administration of naloxone resulted in the reduction of both gastric secretion and mucosal circulation, indicating that oxyntic cells possess specific opiate receptors and that opiate peptides may be involved in the stimulation of gastric secretion.This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
