The Cytology of Rabbit Papillomas and Derived Carcinomas2

Abstract
The cytology of rabbit papillomas and of three transplantable tumor lines that originated from these papillomas has been studied in material grown in New Zealand white rabbits. The rabbit papillomas are largely diploid. The carcinomas differ from the papillomas, and from each other, in that the Vx2 carcinoma is hyperdiploid, the V2 carcinoma is triploid, and the Vx7 is a higher polyploid. Possible reasons for these differences are discussed.
