Abstract
We have proposed, in our previous paper, a method for determining the plasma density utilizing the resonances of surface waves. A recognizable discrepancy between the densities determined from the symmetric mode resonances and those from the dipolar was pointed out. In this paper, the effect of radial profile of plasma density, as one of the possible reasons for this discrepancy, is examined and is found to be the most important. The effect, in turn, seems to offer an useful method to estimate experimentally the radial distribution of plasma density.
