Abstract
Two coal samples from the Coal-bearing Series of the Faeroe Islands have yielded an abundant flora of sporomorphs. Pteridophytes, probably bryophytes, and gymnosperms as well as angiosperms, have been met with. The most characteristic types are illustrated, and their probable origin is discussed. The sporomorph flora suggests an Eocene age of the Coal-bearing Series.
