Consolidated List of Approved Common Names of Insecticides and Certain other Pesticides

Abstract

A revised list of common names of insecticides and related chemicals compiled by the Committee on Insecticide Terminology and approved for use in the publications of the Entomological Society of America was published in the April 1959 issue of the JOURNAL OF ECONOMIC ENTOMOLOGY (52: 361–2). Changes and additions to the list were published in the October 1959 (52: 1032), August 1960 (53: 677), October 1960 (53: 955), and October 1962 (55: 822) issues of the JOURNAL. Proposed additions as published in the March 1963 issue of the BULLETIN OF THE ENTOMOLOGICAL SOCIETY of AMERICA (9: 60) are also adopted as published. This present list is a consolidation with minor corrections and editorial changes of these previously published names and supersedes them in Entomological Society of America publications. Some fungicide, herbicide and rodenticide nomenclature has been included for information only. Names announced by the American Standards Association or the Interdepartmental Committee on Pest Control are indicated with an asterisk.
