Methods are described for determining the amount of Fe present in blood, tissues and urine using the colorimetric method dependent on the formation of ferric thiocyanate in presence of acetone. It is shown that these methods are capable of a high degree of accuracy. They are simpler and less time-consuming than the methods at present in use.
