Abstract
Using published infra-red and Raman data, the potential constants of ReO4 -, ReO3Cl and ReO3Br have been determined in a modified Urey-Bradley field. A normal coordinate analysis have been carried within the formalism of Wilson's F-G matrix method, and the force constants have been evaluated by a computer routine which refined the differences of experimental and calculated frequencies in the least-square sense. Transferability of Urey-Bradley force constants has been assumed. Keywords
