Abstract
The paper details a case presenting several curious features, and correlates microscopic and chemical fragments of asbestos fiber with particles found in the lungs. The latter consisted of extremely fine granular dust and large particles, one measuring 360[mu] in length. Histo-logic appearances were those of a diffuse interstitial pneumonia with an added tubercle infection. In addition curious fungoid bodies were found the nature of which is uncertain. The authors think that they represent a hyphomycete. A short historical summary of asbestosis is given. See B.A. 2 (1/2) Entry 1413.
