(He3,α) Pickup Reactions inNi58andNi60

Abstract

(${\mathrm{He}}^3$, $\alpha$) pickup reactions in ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{58}$ and ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{60}$ have been studied using 24.5-MeV ${\left({\mathrm{He}}^3\right)}^{++}$ ions. Several new energy levels in ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{57}$ were found. Angular distributions for $l=1\mathrm{}$ neutron transfer were found to be similar to one another, but different from angular distributions for $l=3\mathrm{}$ neutron transfer. A $j$ dependence of the angular distributions is suggested by the data, and some new spin assignments are proposed.
