Abstract

Injection of parathyroid extract in frequent and moderately large doses results in diuresis, loss of water, Na, Cl, Ca, P; then oliguria. anuria, azotemia and death. Glucose may alleviate the symptoms in some cases, but may accentuate mineral loss. Probably dehydration plays an important part in the production of the symptom-complex.
