Abstract
Infrared spectra of the perpendicular bands of CHF3 and CDF3 have been examined at high resolution. The band of CHF3 and the band of CDF3 were resolved and Coriolis constants and band centers determined. The measured band shapes of the bands permitted Coriolis constants to be calculated. These data were then used to calculate the E‐species force constants of the general harmonic potential function. Normal coordinates were also calculated.
