Comments on the use of the 'escape factor' in plasma spectroscopy

Abstract
The use of escape factors to compute atomic number densities of optically thick non-thermal plasmas is given a basis of plausibility by examining carefully the validity conditions of Biberman's approximate solution of Holstein-Biberman's integral equation.Keywords
