Abstract
Ram spermatozoa after storage at -79C were damaged when washed twice 10 10 volumes of diluent, the procedure used for recently ejaculated cells. After freezing, the oxygen uptake of spermatozoa washed once in 10 volumes of diluent was the same as that of unwashed cells. Using this degree of washing it was not possible to obtain thawed cells free of fructose and lactate.
