Carbon Tetrachloride Injury of the Liver. The Protective Action of Certain Compounds.

Abstract
Typical lesions of CC14, injury were produced in rats by sub-cut. injn. of .1 ml./150 g./rat. Liver protection in decreasing degree was afforded by Na thioglycollate, Na glycollate, glutathione, Na thiomalate, Na malate, and cystein. Aspar-tic acid sodium acetate, glutamic acid, methionine, choline, choline plus cystine did not afford significant protection.
