Abstract
Subcutaneous injection of 50 µg long acting agonist of LRF (LRF-Ag) resulted inthe prompt, simultaneous pulsatile release of both LH and PRL in four hypogonadal women. After repeated daily administration of LRF-Ag, LH release in response to LRF-Ag was markedly attenuated, andLH pulses were abolished. LRF-Ag induced PRL release was also attenuated but remained pulsatile. These findings demonstrate the dissociation of the LRF-Ag-induced contemporaneous release of LH and PRL and suggest a hypothalamic site of action of LRF-Ag on PRL release. Keywords
