Abstract
A three-phase distribution pattern of Pteridium aquilinum attributable to pioneer, mature and degenerate phases of community structure is reported from North Wales. This pattern is interpreted in terms of the intrinsic morphology of the plant, and it is further shown that this species can affect the distribution pattern of soil oxygen diffusion rate in the soil it occupies. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
