Abstract
The thermographic findings in 97 patients referred to the Breast Clinic, Hammersmith Hospital, are analysed. In 4 of 16 patients with a mammary carcinoma the thermograms were normal. A large number of false positives was found. Our experience suggests that thermography is likely to have serious limitations when used as a screening procedure and that it cannot replace clinical palpation. Keywords
