Abstract
A technique involving the use of a trial function containing several adjustable parameters has been developed for the purpose of deducing the electrical conductivity from measurements on the electric arc. It is used to re-analyze experiments in argon, xenon and nitrogen. Some improvement in agreement between theory and experiment is noted. Keywords
