Muon Polarization inKμ30Decay

Abstract
An experiment to measure the polarization of muons from Kμ30 decay was carried out at the Bevatron with counter techniques. All three components of the polarization were measured. The time-reversal-violating component transverse to the decay plane was found to be PTc.m.=0.005±0.019, which is consistent with T invariance. The result for the form-factor ratio ξff+ was Reξ=1.810.26+0.50, Imξ=0.02±0.08, Arg(ξ)π=(0.6±2.6)°, if ξ is assumed to be independent of q2. If ξ is not too strongly dependent on q2, this result still holds true for ξ at q22.65mπ2, the average q2 selected by our apparatus.
