Abstract
Coronary artery calcification, the accumulation of calcified plaques visible by computed tomography,1 is a subclinical predictor of future coronary heart disease events.2,3 Risk factors for calcification include established heart disease risk factors such as male sex, older age, glucose intolerance, tobacco use, dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, obesity, raised inflammatory markers, and low educational attainment.4-6Keywords
