Abstract
This paper develops a variational programming algorithm of an iterative nature which generates an optimal feedback control for systems with pure time delays in the plant dynamical equations. The computational approach is based on the theory of weak relative minima of the classical calculus of variations and may be applied in situations where the plant is nonlinear and/or the performance index is nonquadratic. Keywords
