Abstract
Two adults with bacteremic pneumococcal epiglottitis are reported, one of whom was previously immunized with polyvalent pneumococcal vaccine. These 2 cases and 4 of 5 previously reported adult cases occurred in patients with an underlying malignancy. Possible mechanisms for this association are discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
