It has been discovered that metals exhibit hydrodynamic properties, when subjected to these conditions, which facilitate shaping. The principle has been applied to the shaping of steel tungsten, columbium, sintered nickel and other metals. Thin sections may be extruded and forged and the effect on cost reduction is substantial.
