Abstract
The addition of 25 y of synthetic folic acid/100 g. of a basal ration prevented the reduced growth, poor feathering condition, and low Hb and hematocrit values consistently obtained in chicks on the basal ration. More than 25 y were needed when the diet contained 1% sulfasuxidine; this increased requirement suggests some degree of indirect activity of folic acid. Vit. C or whole liver powder gave a slight response in the presence of adequate amts. of synthetic folic acid. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
