Abstract
A study of 586 Officers Candidate School candidates and a review of hospital records yielded 23 cases of proved myoglobinuria associated with physical exertion. These individuals were undergoing the usual rigorous physical training program at the Officers Candidate School, Fort Benning, Ga. No instances of myoglobinuria occurred in 175 additional subjects whose physical training was increased on a graduated basis with frequent rest periods. Other causes of myoglobinuria are discussed, and a case report, showing the most striking clinical features of 23 cases, is included. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
