The use of X rays as the unconditioned stimulus in five-hundred-day-old rats.

Abstract

Conditioned aversion to saccharin with X radiation in the role of US is demonstrated in 500-day-old Wistar rats. The threshold for the effect is less than 50 r., and increased doses result in no further decrease in saccharin preference. The amount of saccharin consumed prior to irradiation is shown to have no effect on subsequent aversion. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
