Physical growth of eggs of Hydatigera taeniaeformis in the terminal 12 proglottids was continuous to the 6th. Eggs freshly removed from stored terminal 6 proglottids hatched uniformly in hatching solutions, while eggs stored free varied considerably in hatching time. Evolutionary implications and practical applicability of these observations are discussed.
