Abstract
The use of high-speed electronic digital computers in the fitting of non-linear relationships to experimental data is discussed. A powerful principle for this application is described and illustrated in terms of the survival of reproductive integrity after irradiation. An extension of the principle is also described, which leads to the finding of realistic confidence limits on the parameters fitted: this has hitherto been impossible. Keywords
