Elastic Constants of Indium Antimonide from 4.2°K to 300°K

Abstract
The adiabatic elastic constants of a single crystal of indium antimonide have been measured by an ultrasonic pulse technique in which 10-Mc/sec acoustic waves were employed. The elastic constants extrapolated to 0°K are, in units of 1012 dynes/cm2, c11=0.6918, c12=0.3788, and c44=0.3132. A Debye characteristic temperature, θ, of 205°±2°K at 0°K was calculated from these values of the elastic constants.
