Synthesis of chloroisoxazoline amino-acids

Abstract

The addition of chloronitrile oxide to the nitronate salts of αβ-unsaturated-α-nitrocrotonic esters yields the 3-chloroisoxazoline adducts, in an efficient reaction; further transformations convert these into the free aminoderivatives which are members of a class of biologically interesting amino-acids.
