Abstract
The small raised tactile areas on the skin surface of the cat which evoke action potentials that convey both temporal and spatial information to the central nervous system are Haarscheiben or tylotrich pads. Each pad is an integral part of a tylotrich follicle, a skin appendage that is highly specialized for sensory function.Keywords
