Thermal metamorphism of zeolites in amygdales of basaltic rocks is shown to give glomero-porphyroblastic aggregates of plagioclase crystals. Plagioclase phenocrysts in basic rocks are shown to undergo but little change during similar degrees of metamorphism. Keywords
