Effect of Growth Hormone on the Biosynthesis of Aldosterone in the Rat

Abstract
Pig, monkey and human growth hormone when administered to hypophysectomized rats are equally effective in increasing the synthesis of aldosterone in the adrenals of these animals without appreciably affecting the synthesis of corticosterone. Incubation of these preparations with rat adrenals indicated that this was not a direct action of growth hormone.Keywords
