Abstract
A brief review of stimulated Raman scattering and two plasmon decay, two of the dominant processes in the physics of laser-plasma interactions in the underdense corona, is presented together with some of the features of the Raman spectrum recurring in various observations. Discrepancies between theory and experiment over thresholds and details of the Raman spectrum are discussed. Keywords
