Abstract
The proton emission spectrum from dissociation of ionised HI has been recorded using both UV and electron impact excitation. As energy analyser an electrostatic electron spectrometer with reversed voltages was used. The spectrum is shown to originate mainly from singly ionised molecules. Vibrational structure was observed in the proton spectrum corresponding to predissociation of the 1 sigma -1 single hole state. An enhancement due to the HeI radiation, by a factor of thirty, of the proton emission intensity was observed for one vibrational sublevel and was used for identification of the states involved. Keywords
