Abstract
In a study of 100 instances of arrhythmia or tachycardia of supraventricular origin, procaine amide restored regular sinus rhythm in a significant proportion. Auricular fibrillation and auricular flutter over a 3-yr. period were resistant, while nodal rhythm was very sensitive. Some auricular arrhythmias that were refractory to quinidine were abolished by procaine. The converse was also observed. Keywords
